Comfort Inn Downtown Memphis-Guest Reviews

“Good Stay”

“The Hotel is in a good location just down from Main Street and the Trolley Bus line which takes you around Town. Mud Island is well worth a visit and has an interesting Missisippi River sculpture and museum. Also worth a visit is the Fire Dept Museum, very near to the Hotel.
The hotel Staff were very friendly and helpful the room was clean, although we had requested a non smoking room we had to have a smoking room which did smell a bit of cigarettes. There was an excellent complimentry breakfast to start the day. I would definatley stay at this hotel again if I went to Memphis.”

“Nice stay”

Reviewed May 5, 2013 NEW

We arrived early afternoon in July 2012 for an overnight stay. Plenty of spaces were available for Self Parking in the hotel car park under the hotel. A lift takes you from the car park directly to reception. Check in was reasonably quick. Whilst we pre-paid there was an additional charge for car parking. The room was a the side of the hotel but still had a nice view over the Mississippi. The room was clean and had all the conveniences we needed. Decor was slightly tired but as this hotel was so much cheaper than similar grade hotels in the area we considered it good value. As soon as we unpacked we went to the outdoor pool. It was an extremely hot day so the pool was very welcome. The pool area is on a higher floor with views over the Mississippi. We left the pool and walked a short distance to the tram stop which took us on the circuit of downtown Memphis. It stopped regularly and allowed us to easily visit the Martin Luther King museum and Beale street. After eating around Beale street we walked a relatively short distance back to the hotel. Alternatively you can jump back onto the tram. We thought the hotel was well located for the sights of downtown Memphis although there are a few hotels closer to Beale street, but these are not worth the extra expense, in our opinion. The breakfast was fine and check out quick and uneventful. Before we travelled to Asheville we visited Graceland and had ample time to see all the attractions and still get to our destination in good time.
